BLACK DEER 2018 – A Celebration Of Americana, Country Music And Lifestyle

Iron & Wine, Passenger, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Kiefer Sutherland and more were here at Eridge Park

The weekend of music which celebrates Americana, blues, roots, authentic country, folk and bluegrass genres, as well as singer-songwriters and storytellers (see the 2018 line-up poster). Proudly independent the line-up was specially selected for this inaugural event to complement the authentic lifestyle and cultural celebration to evoke a sense of being transported to the deep-south within the most perfect natural landscape as its backdrop, Eridge Park.  The entire experience brought together a passionate set of subcultures and create a community of like-minded people, spanning generations who not only follow the music but who subscribe to an authentic way of life.

Black Deer created a festival environment that immersed attendees in this roots alternative lifestyle, rustling up a tasty variety of classic smokehouse food and drink to take revellers deep into the heartlands of all things Americana, including speciality beverages and barbecues. The story of Americana cannot be told without referencing motorcycles – we’ve just the person to not only tell you about it but show you the sense of freedom, rebellion and the rock and roll they symbolized.  Expect to see custom builds to raucous bands that provide the soundtrack, curated by Bolt Motorcycles, London.

Other areas of the festival showcased artisan wares and cultural pioneers, as well as a dedicated area for the kids that included hands-on outdoor adventures, campfire cooking, Ukulele lessons and even the opportunity to perform on a stage created for budding juniors.

A full weekend camping with options to pitch your own tent to fancy camping made easy with Gypsy Bowtop Caravans to luxury yurts.  Every detail was considered and was available, including lockers and phone charging stations, onsite medical personnel, food and drink and plenty of showers and toilets.

This is the UK’s newest favourite Americana & country festival and 2019 is one not to be missed. Find out more here –
