14th April 2022 –The “Sit Down” and “Laid” superstars, led by renowned showman Tim Booth, along with Grammy-nominated Nashville star Cam, Americana poster boy Hiss Golden Messenger and folk-pop favourites Darlingside will join Van Morrison, Wilco, The Waterboys, Jake Bugg, Imelda May, Drive-By Truckers and Foy Vance at Europe’s premier Americana playground in June. Indie giants James will get the party started for the event three years in the making following successive postponements due to the pandemic, completing an impressive three day lineup alongside Van Morrison, Wilco and The Waterboys. The much loved British band, whose career has spanned a staggering 5 decades and have sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, will be bringing their charismatic live show to the deer park.

25th November 2021 – Award-winning songwriter Jake Bugg is the latest artist announced for Kent’s, Black Deer Festival. Joining Van Morrison, The Waterboys, Imelda May, Drive-By Truckers, Foy Vance, Courtney Marie Andrews and Wilco, Jake Bugg will be performing in the spectacular surroundings of England’s oldest Deer Park in June 2022.

The announcement follows the release of Jake’s fifth full length album, Saturday Night, Sunday Morning this summer featuring his euphoric single All I Need and supported by the likes of BBC Radio 1, Radio X and the The Graham Norton show. While Jake is no stranger to a festival stage, Black Deer will be his first UK festival appearance in 2022. Fans can expect a set that fuses his laid-back gritty swagger, refreshing sense of humour and seasoned knowledge beyond his years.

Having survived two Covid-induced cancellations in 2020 and 2021, Black Deer Festival is returning bigger and better in June 2022. The largest growing independent UK music festival has been recognised with numerous awards including ‘The UK’s Best New Festival’ at the 2018 AIF Awards.

Further new additions to the festival line-up include Pokey LaFarge, The War and Treaty, William Prince, The Lost Brothers, Declan O’Rourke, Steak, Treetop Flyers, Yasmin Williams, True Strays, Midnight Skyracer, Isabella Coulstock and My Girl the River.

With a surge in sales since the announcement of 2022 and their best-priced Tier 3 tickets set to sell out in weeks, organisers are excited to welcome people back through the gates for the first time since the acclaimed 2019 festival. Since making a name for itself for its unique offering of laid back authentic Americana, the best in street food and forest school style children’s activities, Black Deer Festival hasn’t stood still. With live music set to explode next summer, 2022 will see the biggest and best Black Deer yet, with more names still to be announced. With further big name artists to be revealed, and the announcement of the festival’s Live Fire and The Roadhouse offerings to follow, Black Deer also remain committed to giving 1500 tickets to NHS Key Workers for the event, with some members of the Black Deer team having been personally affected by the pandemic. Having seen first-hand the incredible work and sacrifices made by so many, they decided to show their gratitude and thanks by inviting 1500 NHS and key workers as guests to Black Deer Festival 2021… this will be matched in 2022.
