Explore the new Deer Park Campsite on the Eridge Estate in East Sussex – lush forests, wild deer, and camping under the stars

Come and relax, have fun and take in the beautiful surroundings of our Deer Park.

The Deer Park Campsite is discreetly nestled amongst the woodlands within Eridge Park, the family home of the Marquess of Abergavenny. The Estate is steeped in history, being reputedly the oldest enclosed Deer Park in England and listed in the Domesday Book.

This beautiful ancient deer park provides a fabulous backdrop to your camping holiday, with stunning views over the Sussex Downs, it is a spectacular location. The campsite has 60 grass pitches for tent camping split across two woodland meadows.

The landscape, enhanced by open vistas, walks and follies, most notable Saxonbury Tower and the castellated wall at Sham Farm, is set in the glorious Sussex countryside, bordering with Kent and is easy to access from London and the surrounding areas.

Deer Park Campsite is a peaceful, family friendly, tent-only campsite. We have excellent facilities, parking, and no vehicles by the pitches, creating a safe environment for you and your family.

Eridge Park is the ideal location for a variety of traditional country pursuits with many activities available on the Eridge Estate and surrounding area.

Trout Fishing

The magical two-acre trout lake in the heart of Eridge Park is the original source of the Tunbridge Wells spa. The lake is well stocked with quality Rainbow and Brown trout ranging from 2lb 8oz to 8lb, and is open to all on day fishing tickets.

You can also enjoy the Mayfield and Tunbridge Wells circular walks which take you through some lovely woods and meadows in this fertile and beautiful countryside. Bedgebury Forest and National Park is only 11 miles away, which is a stunning area of natural beauty with miles of walks and cycling paths, including ’Go Ape,’ a hugely fun activity where you can swing through the trees. If you are a water sports enthusiast, Bewl Water is the place to visit with lots of activities including sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. Visit Scotney Castle, Hever Castle and Penhurst Place, heritage heaven!
